Change in Life-Cycle Status for Numerous PXI Chassis and Controllers

Hello All,

  1. Can you please clarify what are the main differences between 1078 and 1088 chassis.
  2. Can you please help to clarify suitable replacement for PCIe8361. It’s not clear

1. You can go to here and compare the 1078 and 1088: https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/hardware/products/pxi-chassis.html?modelId=123538.  Things I notice: a lot more bandwidth, no PXIe exclusive slots in the 1088 (only hybrid), more cooling capacity.

2. I'm not currently seeing anything showing the PCIe-8361 changing into a mature life cycle.  I see the PCIe-8371 is not "mature".  https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/hardware/products/device-for-pxi-remote-control.html?modelId=122802

The PCIe-8361 itself is not a part of the LTB. The PCI-8361 is, as well as hardware bundles that included the PCIe-8361 and PXI-8360. For example, part number 779505-03 is under a LTB because it's a kit that's made up of a PXI-8360, PCIe-8361, and cable. The PCIe-8361 will still be sold, it just won't be sold as a kit or bundle with the PXI-8360.

Basically, we're moving away from PCI and PXI hardware to focus on PCIe and PXIe hardware.

So are there any replacement option for the 779505-03?  My company is heavily invested in the PXI platform and needs support for MXI solutions.  Please advise.

You can purchase it from third-party vendors like apex waves

Alternatively, you can switch to Thunderbolt3 using PXIe-8301 instead of the legacy MXI.
