Difference between ADC resolution and measurement resolution

Hi,

What is the difference between the ADC resolution and the Measurement resolution? Is the measurement resolution the same as the effective number of bits? How can the measurement resolution be higher than the ADC resolution?

Measurement resolution is the realistic resolution you can get from the instrument as a whole.

It seems but it's still pretty unclear. If you go see the graphs, the lowest resolution is still under 18 bits...
