NI ExpressCard-8360 - Adaptor card to low-profile PCIe slot

Hello,

we share PXI chassis in our office between desktop PCs by using of NI Express Card 8360 + Delock PCI Express card to Express Card 34 mm

National Instruments ExpressCard-8360 MXI Express Interface      +picture

BUT our Dell Desktop PCs have low-profile PCI Express slots. So Delock card doesn't fit properly and its front plate has to be twisted to be able to plug in.

Also it's impossible to screw it so loosing of connection and crashes are noted sometimes.

So my question is: Is there some LOW-PROFILE Adapter in the market?

I mean upper of these two...

Is there a reason why you can't just switch an NI card back and forth (or use two)?

You could get low profile PCIe cards for each PC, then switch the cable back and forth instead of the card.  You could also get a single card and swap that.  Is there a reason you don't want to do that?

4x NI PCIe-8361

= $ 2,268

1x NI ExpressCard-8360 + 4x Delock PCI Express card to Express Card 34 mm

= $ 775 + laptop usability

Is this what you are looking for?

The pictures show the normal profile card, but it comes with the option to convert it to low profile.

Hello, I have a dell precision desktop and I need to plug my expresscard 8360 on it. I'm thinking of using an adapter either. Could you please tell me if the startech adapter works? thank you.

Oh and while I was at NewEgg I intend to try

StarTech ECBRACKET2 Stabilizer Adapter

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16839158051

Its a bit of plastic that clips on the bracket to stop the express card being wobbled / bumped in the adaptor. (I have lost the connection in my laptop before because I bumped the cable.)
