NI PXIe-408X is detected by NI MAX but is not accessible via Soft Front Panel or python NIDMM

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello all,

I am running into an issue where my PXIe- 408X DMM is not accessible via my python automation. After checking in NI-MAX I see that the card is detected but there are two oddities:

1) The DMM serial number is missing from NIMAX panel

2) NI-DMM Soft Front Panel reports "...did not detect any NI-DMM instruments in the system."

I can verify that the module is installed correctly and does function on two other PXIe-1085 chassis with embedded controllers.

A major difference with my system is the MXI configuration.
I have a NI PXIe-1085, PXIe-8398, and PCIe-8398.

Below is a snap shot of my NI-MAX window, and the list of my NI driver environment.
It is worth noting that the I have some PXI relays which are working as expected.

Try resetting NI MAX database and check device manager to update drivers,
