Hello everyone,
first my hardware configuration:
PC with LabView 2010 on Win7 with the latest DAQmx driver (and NI Switch software) connected via Ethernet to the PXI-1000B Chassis with the 8175 Controller and the RealTime System installed. Different Cards are installed and working. The PXI-4021 is installed in the right most slot, too.
My SCXI-System consists of a SCXI-1001 Chassis with eight 1129 modules and 1335 adapters.
The connection from the PXI-System to the SCXI-System is through the 4021, the 9pin DIN-cable to the 1358 backplane on the SCXI-Chassis.
So far I read all documents available (or all I found via the search) at ni.com for the 4021,1358 the cable and so on.
According to the manuals I plugged the components together and installed the 4021 in the MAX at my windows7.
Now I have added the SCXI-Chassis on the remote PXI-System and configured it manually. All eight 1129 with adapters from slot 1-8.
At slot 4 I have the 10pin connector from the backplane to the 1129 module. I choose this as the module which is connected to the PC, in my manual configuration of the SCXI-System.
Second, my problem(s):
I'm not able to get a signal to or from the scxi system. The test-buttons in the MAX say "nothing there / can't find any configured module"
The SFP say "it is not possible on a RT system".
Another big problem is, I'm a newbie (student in 5th semester) at NI products and have nearly no experience with LabView etc.
So I hope someone can give me a hint what to do or where to find the key manual to understand how to do it.
Hope I didn't forgot any necessary detail.
Thanks & Regards
David

Hello David,
on Real-Time targets you can chose the tespanels like under windows to test
your system you have to use our examples or write your own code for tests.
Here some steps that can help:
In MAX under network devices the configured system should look similar to this,
if not you have to check the configurations
Then you have to creata a new project in LV with the RT target like this
Then you can open the example finder and search for SCXI there are
some examples in this you can see how SCXI can be used.

Hello David,
it´s better to search for switch in the example finder there is a example
Switch - Scanning - Software Triggered (DAQmx).vi that can be used for test

Thanks for your answer.
Sadly I'm not able to test your proposition with the example.
The PXI 4021 is broken or don't response to anything I tried. There is a little surface curvature on the big chip of the 4021.
My boss decided to buy the USB-1359 now.
