Status Error Code -50400, PXI 4461

Hi all,

I am using NI PXI-4461 for testing. But suddenly today our labview program stops working now with a status code -50400, which says 'The transfer did not complete within the timeout period or within the specified number or retries.' I could not find the meaning of this status code. I do need your help.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Since the error -50400 occurred during self-test, I would consider it as the instrument did not respond back within the required timeout.

Suggested troubleshooting options,

• Reset, Self-test, self-calibrate
• Power cycle the PXI system
• Move the 4461 to a different slot

If the module is still not functional after these, it could be just a case of a damaged/bricked instrument that needs repair by NI.

I did reboot the system and the second time somehow this error went away.

Not sure what caused this issue but now the system is working properly.

Hi santo_13, today I had the same problem but in my case there was an error also for resetting (pict attached). I repeated the same steps in another slot and with a new board.
Do you have other suggestions?
