My setup is:
Windows 11, Labview 2024, PXI-8360, PCIe-8361. PXI-1042
PCs: DELL Precision 3660 and DELL Precision 3680. And we tried on a couple other machines with similar hardware.
My problem is:
On first bootup the PXI 1042 shows up as unidentified. I can go in and change it to 1042 and save. This works while the PC is running.
If I reboot the PC, NI MAX will show unidentified again. For the 3660 i can move the PCIe card to any slot other than the x16 slot and it will come up fine. But if it is in the x16 slot i get the unidentified.
Problem is dell obsoleted that and we have 12 Precision 3680 machines we are upgrading to. And all slots give us this issue.
Temp solution: identify 1042 on each reboot/power on.
Possible Fix we are trying now is in the NI MAX tool. You can disable the resource manager. Under "my system"/"PXI System Settings". switch resource manager to "user selected" and the active resource manager to "(none selected)"
This has proven to work on full power down and restarts. I'll post more if we have any issues on this.
Hope this helps someone. As i found no posts about it.
FYI: NI support said the PXI-1042 is too old and was not part of Labview 2024 R&D testing. So it could be some driver issue.
