Good day,
I'm unable to reset the 4138 smu in a vi, although no problem in MAX.
The SMU is in OVLP.
can someone help me out?
thx.

Hi kdCMC,
Can you upload your code or take any snapshots of it? Are any errors produced if so what codes? Which version of LV are you using?
Kind regards
Pete

Good morning,
I uploaded the vi in which the smu4138 is reset. This vi has also be slightly modified in the mean time to "catch" invalid handle.
The situation of the OVLP is not vacant anymore and because of project stress, I have no time to focus on this.
I have also, in the mean time, upgraded the (MAX) drivers from 14.1 to 15.0. I'm using LV2014 and don't know if my driver upgrade had any effect.
If I run into the same or alike situation where the SMU can not be reset via labview code, but has to be reset via MAX (which was and will hopefully be succesfull), I will return to this thread.
Another issue was (I think) that polling was not "visible" (updated) in MAX test panel (smu4138 PSU), but was ok when polling via labview code. This, I will retest, because is hot in my project...
If this is the case (not updated in max, but ok in code; local sensing, not remote sensing), I will open another thread for this issue.
regards,
Koen.

Hi Koen,
Sorry I haven't replied for awhile, are you still having the issues resetting the device? I saw in the VI that you are using the Reset vi, does this not give you the desired result?
I will have some more time to look into this next week if you are still having problems.

Good day,
I'm having no issues at the moment. I don't have time to research the issue I had. I never reach the OVLP on the SMU since then. As I mentioned before, I also have updated the PXI drivers from 14.1 to 15.0. I thought to have issues with the MAX GUI for SMU: polling when sinking for instance, but also that, I have no issues anymore.
thx,
Koen.
