How to create current-controlled interface?

I have a proportional solenoid valve, 24V coil, 800 mA at maximum stroke, which I wish to use current controlled, with compactRIO I/O modules.

What is the most cost effective combination of I/O modules that will allow me to do this?  As there is no analog current output module exceeding 20 mA, I presume that I need to implement PWM using a voltage output?  Would I measure the circuit current with an analog input module, and then pulse the voltage with a digital output module accordingly?

I agree with you, I believe you'll need a DO module and an AI module if you want feedback.
