Unable to install new software on cRIO 9046

I have a cRIO 9046 which has software installed and has been run previously, to which I am attempting to add the "Network Streams" package. I am able to find and select the desired software, but when I select "Review Changes", the cRIO reboots and I get the message below.

I have ensured that the system is in "Safe Mode (User Directed)". I cannot find any "auto restart" flag, nor any documentation about this flag; assuming it is related to "Disable RT Startup App" and/or "Disable FPGA Startup App", have tried installing with these selections enabled and disabled to no avail.

Please let me know what I am missing and what I need to do to be able to install this software.

Hello!

You will need to verify that the host computer and the cRIO are on the same subnet. You can also directly connect the cRIO to the host computer for configuration. If the networking is correctly configured, you may need to remove all software on the cRIO and then reinstall it.

If that doesn’t work, format and then try to reinstall the complete software package. All your software versions must match (eg. Labview 24, RealTime 24, FPGA 24, cRIO 24), and they must be installed in that order.

Here is the manual, if that helps!

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried connecting to the cRIO both via the same subnet and connecting via the USB, without success.

I circumvented the issue somewhat by using ssh to connect to the cRIO and installing the software via opkg. I had tried to do that prior to asking my question but could not find the package. However, I later was able to find and install the package when the cRIO was not in Safe Mode.

I find it interesting that a user must be in Safe Mode to install software via NI MAX, but must not be in Safe Mode to install via opkg.

I will reformat and try to fix the issue with using NI MAX eventually, but this approach is sufficient for my purposes at the moment.
