cRIO 9056 - Device Identifier Error in NI Max Test Panel

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi - I have what I'm afraid is a newbie question.

I have a system I'm building using a cRIO 9056.

I'm currently running through the basics and getting the hardware set up, and wanted to use test panels through NI MAX to check my chassis is talking to the cards fine before progressing.

When I try to do this, I keep getting an error: 'Error -200220 occurred at daqmxcfg_DAQmx Create Channel (AI-Voltage-Basic).vi:1830001; Possible Reason(s): Device identifier is invalid. Device Specified: cRIO1'. [image below]

I've tried different names [screenshot of naming in max also attached], as well as searching the forum, but am stumped so far as the posts I've read relate to mismatches between the name being called in LabVIEW and the device name on MAX, rather than what I'm seeing within the test panel.

Any guidance would be gratefully received, as I realise it'll be something really basic.

Configuration wise:

  • I've tried this on both a  9205 and 9421 card and get the same error
  • Running the 2024 Q3 DAQmx driver on both the host and target (24.5.0), and same version of CompactRIO driver on host

I have the same error, no idea where it comes from. Simply followed the installation instructions.

At least I'm not the only one then.

Did you have any luck solving it?

I have the same issue also. Seemed to happen after upgrading to DAQmx 2024 Q3

I just updated to the latest version of DAQmx 2024 Q4 along with cRIO drivers which seems to have resolved the issue

To close this out - did as Zero_SR stated and updated Rio and DAQ MX to 2024 Q4, and now able to view inputs on the test panels in Max.
