Are there any diagnostic utilities available to test cRIO controllers?
My coworker and I were troubleshooting an error with Labview Streams. The error was being generated by one particular cRIO-9053. During the troubleshooting, we decided to swap the IP addresses with a cRIO that was working properly to see if the error followed the hardware. Somewhere during the IP swapping, the cRIO in question stopped running it's program and allowing connections to it in Labview.
I attempted to connect to the cRIO using MAX. MAX could not connect using the Ethernet connection. MAX would only connect using the USB cable AND only in Safe mode.
After troubleshooting with no luck, we decided to wipe the cRIO. I reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled the Linux RT image (2022 Q3). I copied all the required software onto the cRIO from a known good RAD image.
I can now see the cRIO in MAX when it's plugged in with the rest of my system. The new indication is the FPGA icon under 'Devices and Interfaces' has a red x which researching appears to be a communication issue. Plus MAX wants me to create a new permissions password even though I created one during the reformatting process. I still cannot connect to the cRIO from the Labview project window. So the request for a diagnostic utility.

We finally got control of the cRIO. Had to perform a factory reset using NIRECOVERY, and then reimaged the cRIO using RAD.
