missing components of web-based configuration

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello all,

I have two cRIO-9074 controllers on my network, both with NI-RIO 4.0 software installed.  When I open a web browser to display the "NI Web-based Configuration & Monitoring" utilities, one cRIO does not display four of the eight tools on the left side of the Silverlight interface.  It is missing the Console, Remote File Browser, Web Server Configuration, and Installed Configuration Tools.

I'd like for the user of this system to be able to download her data files every day or so using the Remote File Browser, so this functionality would be nice to have. Any ideas?

Regards,

Marvin Perry, CLAD

Hello,

Do you have the LabVIEW Real-Time Module installed on the controller that is missing components? The RT module must be installed for those components to appear per section 'Performing Common Tasks on a Remote Device' under article 1 listed below. You may also need to enable the application web server for the target per article 2 listed below in order to have access to the Web Server Configuration if it does not appear after installing the RT module. I also list an article that describes how to install software onto the controller.

1.) Monitoring and Configuring a Remote Device from a Web Browser

2.) Enabling the Application Web Server for Web Services

3.) How Do I Install Different Versions of Software on My Real-Time Target?

Thanks for your reply, Patricia.

I do have the RT module installed, and all my RT vi's are working properly.  I logged in as Admin and all eight components appear, but now when I open Security Configuration, no users or permissions are listed.  When I press the Refresh button, the error message you see here appears.  Weird.  NotFound.png

Hello,

You are welcome. By default, no user except 'admin' will appear. Other users will have to be added by selecting the "+" (New User buttton) sign at the bottom of the 'Users' tab under the Security Configuration. Does your 'Security Configuration' tab appear like the attachment?

Patricia,

No, I don't even see the admin user.  I've attached a screen shot.

Thanks,

Marvin

Hi Marvin,

In an effort to further narrow this error down, does the cRIO appear in MAX under 'Remote Systems'? Are you able to view its 'System Settings'?

Good morning Patricia,

Thanks for continuing to look into this.  Yes, the cRIO appears in MAX under 'Remote Systems'.  I've attached a screen shot from MAX, showing the fully expanded tree under Remote Systems.

"System Settings" are viewed through the Silverlight/web interface, right?  If so, yes, I am able to see the System Settings.

Thanks again,

Marvin

Hello,

You are welcome. 'System Settings' as well as 'Network Settings and 'Time Settings' are viewed in MAX once you click on the cRIO. Do those appear? Can you see the IP address, System State, Model number etx in the 'Systems Settings in Measurement and Automation Explorer?
