How to get more excitation current form SCXI1520

I have a force balance having 6 full bridge strain gages(120 ohm) to measure 3 forces and 3 moments. Excitation for all these bridges are shorted inside the balance and brought out as a single excitation. So effectively excitation load is 20 ohm( 120/6). My question is how to measure these 6 bridges using SCXI-1520, whether I can use, 6 channels to measure this in full bridge configuration? How to give excitation, can I short these 6 channels excitations ( all six (Excitation (P+ ) and source my balance bridges to overcome the limitation of 28 mA / channel excitation current limit?

Hi,

You can connect the excitation Voltage terminals in parallel to increase the maximum excitation current rating since all the channels in SCXI-1520 are isolated. Make sure you take care to prevent terminals getting short. Also each subsequent Strain Guage Channel terminals can be connected to the 6 channels of SCXI-1520 to measure the Voltage Fluctuations across the Guage Resistor.
