NI 9237 RJ-50 Excitation Connection

I have what is probably a really stupid question, and for once the manual is making things worse, at least for me!

I have four full bridge, 10 V excitation load cells I'd like to connect to a NI 9237 with the RJ-50 connections. I know I need external excitation to do this, and there's a very convenient connector on the front face to do this.

Except the connector has 4 terminals, 2 positive and 2 negative. Do I wire one +/- pair, or both, to my 10 VDC external source? Let's look at the manual!

On page 6 (at the bottom) of https://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374186a_02.pdf we've got this:

Reading the note - which applies to the RJ-50 type - I have to use both +/- pairs for external excitation. Reading the rest of the body . . . I use one pair for excitation and another for daisy chaining to other modules? The rest of the body text after the note applies to the D-SUB type, not the RJ-50? It isn't explicit either way. I keep reading this, and just keep getting wrapped around the axle.

So: 10 VDC from an external supply to both +/- pairs, or just one? (And if just one, which, left or right?)

thanks in advnace!

Hello John,

You only need to connect the power supply to one pair of EX+ and Ex-, left or right.

Saludos.
