Connect multiple USRP 2922 to a computer via network switch

I have connected two NI USRP 2922 device to a gigabyte network switch. The switch is connected to the host computer via gigabyte NIC. The IP address of all three devices are as follows:

Host computer NIC - 192.168.10.1

USRP#1 - 192.168.10.2

USRP#2 - 192.168.10.3

When I open the NI USRP configuration utility, I can see only one USRP in the list, randomly any one of the two USRP would be listed. On clicking 'Refresh Devices List', the list is updated with the IP address of USRP that was not listed earlier, and previously listed USRP disappears. At any given time, only one of the two USRP is detected. How can I get access to both USRP simultaneously?

Hi,

in the manual of USRP2922 there are 3 different ways of connecting multiple devices are described with their methods of synchronization.

Could you please indicate which type of connection schemes did you made? For the case below the IP address of one of the devices is different than the address that you've assigned.

If this does not help, in the manual:

https://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/376358b.pdf

there are more options of connection, and in the troubleshooting, there is a method described how to solve the problem of non full device listing.

I have used the third scheme indicated in the manual,i.e.,'Single Ethernet Interface—Multiple Devices Connected to an Unmanaged
Switch '.

Have you tried to list your USRP devices manually? Here is a screenshot from the manual.

I checked manually. Still, I am facing the same problem. Either of the two USRP is detected at a time. When one device is not detected and I recheck it,  I see that the previously missing device is now connected and previously connected device goes missing.

Have you tried to disable the firewall software?
Have you tried to connect the devices to different ports?
Also, have you tried to connect devices one after another?

Would be good also to try with a different LAN switch.

Hi,

you can try to set the IP-s of your devices one after another.
First you connect 1 USRP, configure the IP. Then connect the 2-nd USRP and configure IP. Then it should work.
Ensure that you configure static IP and your switch does not change it.
