Example transmitter program (tx_waveforms) output power and spurious components

Running the help file on the tx_waveforms example program yields a bunch of different settings. With regard to the gain and power settings, how is the output power determined?

For example:

  • Amplitude of the waveform [0 to 0.7]
    • What does the value 0 to 0.7 represent for the waveform amplitude and how does this correlate into an absolute output power?
  • Gain for the RF chain
    • Is this gain in dB? If not, then how does this correlate to an absolute gain?
  • Transmit power (if USRP supports it)
    • If I am supplying waveform amplitude and RF gain, then how does how does transmit power affect these? Is this a value in dBm?

Also, what is the best way to reduce spurious signal emitted from the transmitter? I see some discussion about using fractional-n tuning to do this.
