Is it possible to assign an alternate or substitute Volume License Administrator?

I would like to be able to assign an alternate 'named user' to be able to perform necessary VLM tasks during extended absences from work - such as vacation or illness.  Is this currently possible?

Hi DEPutman,

You can absolutely add another volume license administrator to you VLA. You just have to email agreements@ni.com with your contract number and let them know who you want to add.

Take care!

Hi Tanya V,

Does it matter which version of VLM we have installed and running on the server?

Regards,

Hi Charlie,

It doesn't matter what version of VLM you have, as long as the license file you have requested if for the same version of VLM. If you upgrade VLM, you will need to request a new license file to match that version.

Of course, you'd also want to make sure that your version of VLM is compatible with the operating system you will be running on the server.

Take care!
