VLM disconnected named-user license with different username

I’m trying to set up a disconnected user (mrsmith). I have another, non-networked, computer that he needs to work on and that computer is not connected to the network and uses a different username (LabUser)  to log in to the machine.

I create the disconnected user license and install it on the target machine. The license manager then shows an error that indicates that the license is for mrsmith and not LabUser.

I tried creating a LabPC computer in the VLM, but I cannot associate this with any licenses, so when I go to disconnect the computer, I get an error that states that there are no valid licenses.

I do not see a way to associate the computer with one of the named-user licenses.

How do I solve this problem?

Using NI VLM v3.0.0.120

Hello Mister_Rose,

I believe you are running into a limitation of having a named-user license. It sounds like you need a computer-based license in this scenario. It is most likely that your VLA is user-based and so you do not have that possibility. Can you not log in as an admin on the disconnected computer and create a new user, mrsmith?

Otherwise you may need to email agreements@ni.com to make some modifications to your VLA.
