Can we use "LabView for Everyone, 3rd edition" with LabView 2016?

I want to learn LabVIEW. I have downloaded LabVIEW 2016. I was wondering that can I use the book (published in 2006) now? I think interface and basic modules in labview 2016 would have been changed a lot.

Book Vs. Official self-placed online LabView training (Core 1, Core 2 and daq ) : Which one is better to understand LabView and its signal processing tools. Also, what does core 1, core 2 and core 3 represents?
