With guidance from Management, participates in the successful integration of new products into the service organization through the design, development, and programming of automated test and process equipment, and as assigned, provides ongoing technical support for the YW service center and service organization.

The incumbent will effectively use Philips Respironics’ production tools, and engineering skills to develop and validate automated test and processing equipment for successful integration into the service center processes.  Effective technical judgment and interpersonal skills are required to successfully initialize enhancements to existing test equipment to improve their design, manufacturability, quality, and test  yield.

The candidate will provide sufficient and competent technical expertise in support of improving product supportability through interaction with Quality Assurance, New Product Development, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Technical Service and Marketing.

Your Responsibilities:
• Design and develop software control systems using LabView for the testing and calibration of Philips Respironics devices.
• Modify existing software test applications for use in service processes
• Design and develop electrical hardware for automated test and processing equipment to be used for testing of electromechanical devices.
• Work with drafting, model shop, manufacturing engineers and technicians to design and build improved processing and test equipment for both electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Provide engineering support for new product development relative to testing equipment needed to achieve reliability and performance within acceptable process capabilities and delivery goals
• Coordinate members on a cross-functional team for equipment development, specification development, validation and implementation of equipment.
• Provide documentation and support for Service testing designs in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop system level schematics for power distribution of control systems-Desired
• Design electronic hardware for service equipment-Desired
• Meet FDA and ISO Quality System Requirements and quality standards-Desired

• Willingness to travel approximately 50% split between Youngwood Service and RIMR/RIST and possible travel to RIGA Plants.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
• BS in Electrical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years of work experience with a proven track record of problem solving and relationship building with both external and internal customers.
• Must have 5-7+ years experience developing test applications using National Instruments LabView
• Must have 5+ years of design experience in electrical integration of automated systems.
• Experience with designing electrical schematics; CAD experience a plus.
• Ability to write professional reports, test specifications and procedures.
• Conduct basic statistical analysis.
• Experience with medical device manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of how to conduct FDA-compliant validation for test systems and software preferred
• National Instruments TestStand experience desired
