one third octave band from FFT data

Dear all,

I am currentlty using myRIO to sample audio signals over the range of 0 Hz to 25 KHz and calculate FFT for every 0.5 second with resolution of 2 Hz.

i.e. For every 0.5 second, the FFT function will produce 12500 elements spanning over 0 Hz to 25000 Hz.

After that, i use a shared network variable to transfer the data from myRIO through local WIFI netowrk to host PC  running on LabVIEW with Sound and Vibration tool kit installed. 

On the host PC side, i need to perform octave band analysis from the FFT data.

My 2 questions are

1. In the past, i had used Sound and Vibration toolkit to calculate 1/3 Octave bands from audio samples (t domain value) . Is it possible to calculate Octave band or 1/3 Octave band from FFT data?
2. How does the network shared variable works? What's the maximum amount of data that i can send at any time? Currently am sending 12500 DBL elements every half second from myRIO to host PC and the system works fine without any data loss.

The former Poster's question hasn't been answered in 5 years.  I recommend you start a new Post, make it your own, explain what you want to do, what you have tried, what problems you've encountered, what hardware you are using, etc.  Also, post all of your code (the best way is to compress the folder that contains your LabVIEW Real-Time Project and attach the resulting .ZIP file.
