Wrong. That's not the point. The point is the jump to the new messages in a particular thread. While most long threads tend to be on this board, where there aren't a lot of messages, and you (at least I) would probably want to read them all anyway, This could also happen, for example, in the LV board, where jumping between threads will be annoying. The numbers I refered to are the links found at each post (post
X of Y).
This is actually basically the same as what you wrote about email subscriptions - I could use the subscriptions to get to all the new posts, and I could sort all messages by date, but I want a convenient interface AND I want to keep the context. On that note, I believe this was discussed, but is there any option to have an indented look, like in the old system? I briefly reread "enthusiasts 2" yesterday, and it was almost impossible to follow. It looks like when a thread gets to be that long, the only way to read it is to sort by date.
