Processor Compatibility for PCIe GPIB card

Solved!
Go to solution

Does PCIe-GPIB card (Part Number: 778930-01) require an enterprise Intel Xeon processor or AMD Threadripper to run or any standard consumer range such as Intel Core i-Series & AMD Ryzen is sufficient ?

Thank You,

Clarence.

Clarence, the PCIe-GPIB is compatible with devices that have a PCIe x1 bus available, per the PCIe-GPIB Specifications.

As you will see, it does not specify a specific processor model, brand or series for the hardware to receive power and communicate using said bus. However, I recommend ensuring the processor is sufficient for the operating system in which the driver will run. You can see the supported operating systems in the NI-488.2 driver's readme.

The reason I asked because I haven't obtain the card yet as I needed to quote it for a client and build it together into their new industrial system PC.

Thanks Oscar, for clearing it up for me.

Best wishes, and Happy Holidays.

Clarence.
