Digicam (Live Stream)

Hi @ all,

is there a way in LabView (2010 or2011), to get a live stream (image) from thehelmetcamera like "Gopro HD Hero (http://de.gopro.com/hd-hero-cameras/)" or "Rollei ActionCam 100  (http://www.rcp-technik.com/typo3/index.php?id=703&no_cache=1&tx_ewcamerasheet_pi1%5Bview%5D=detail&t...)".

It maybe a differentcamera, butthe camera shouldhaveat leasta resolution of min. 720p.

Can't speak for the GoPro, but the newer Contour cameras (I have the older 1080 version) can stream over bluetooth to android/ios devices as a "preview".  I believe this uses their own protocol, you'd have to spend some time deciphering that stream to get a useable image out of it.  ContourConnect also allows you to modify settings (exposure, contrast, mic gain, resolution/framerate).

Haven't heard of anyone taking that stream to anything other than an android/ios device using contour's provided software... not saying it's not possible though.

Would you be streaming to a PC?

Thanks!

Yes i would stream it to a PC which is in an roboter and the cam is on the top of it.

Connection to the PC with Ethernet.

If you want to stream the video over ethernet, a contour/gopro is the wrong camera for the job.  A cheap network camera will do the trick there; you can find those for about $20 shipped from china on ebay.

If you really wanna go crazy with it ($$$), pick up an NI Smart Camera... dual GigE on-board.

Thanks.

No. We only stream the LabView Programm (VNC). But also for this application the GoPro is exaggerated.

That's right, and I think a HD Webcam could be enough for this application.
