The report a bug link (actually called Request Support) is the correct link to use to report a bug, including a bug in an example program. The Product Feedback link is used to submit suggestions via the Product Suggestion Center (e.g. to suggest a new feature or function, add something to a palette, suggest we document a procedure, etc.). The support folks are instructed to let reporters through trhe support channels when they are reporting a bug, even if they don't have phone or email support. Just make sure you make it clear that you are reporting a bug.
Bugs are sometimes reported via the Product Suggestion Center, but they are then converted to a bug report internally (hopefully soon after being filed). The problem though is that suggestions do not receive the same priority handling that bugs do, so there's a chance our reacting to it might be delayed if it is reported through the suggestion center. For the situation here, reaction time is a non-issue, but that's not always the case.
I filed a bug report for the example here, noting the number of samples used to calculate the average is off by one.
Thanks for the taking the time to follow up on this.
