LabVIEW crash loses Build Properties and Conditional Symbols

I've had the same in LV8.5 \w FPGA module. At startup, I'll get the option
to revert the project. If I do that, all fpga files need to be recompiled,
taking about 3 hours...

Seems to me that not all changes are stored in the project backup. So when a
crash happens, you get a (very) old version.

For now, I just never restore projects from a backup. The version stored on
disk always seems to be fine.

Yeah, I have gotten into the habit of saving the project file any time I make any kind of change to it, that way I know that the file is up to date and doesn't need recovered, even if LabVIEW says it does.  That way I don't lose my settings.  In my case it wasn't an extreme pain losing the settings, but I can see others are having a lot more pain than I.
