LabView Keithley595 compatibility

Dear NI Community,

I need your valuable support for my Keithley 595 C-V meter. I need to connect the (old) instrument with a modern laptop via USB. I found NIST GPIB-to-USB adapter with the following description:

"The GPIB‑USB‑HS is an IEEE 488 controller device for computers with USB slots. The GPIB‑USB‑HS achieves maximum IEEE 488.2 performance. With no GPIB cable required for instrument connection, you can use the Hi‑Speed USB port to control up to 14 programmable GPIB instruments. This device is completely IEEE 488.2 compatible. The device includes a license for the NI‑488.2 driver software, providing maximum reliability for connecting to third-party instruments with GPIB."

I would like to know if it is suitable for my instrument. Technical support wrote me this:

"Not sure if I can comment much on the GPIB implementation of that generation – I would certainly

avoid very fast controllers as clock frequencies were certainly slow by then.

As the instrument offers GPIB it is not so much Windows revision dependent – you just have to

select a controller which works with the old GPIB version of your 595 *) and on the other

side has drivers for your Windows OS.

P.S. *) I could not locate a reference to IEEE-488.2, but only to IEEE-488."

I'm new with the use of the instrument and the LabView software, and before buying the adapter (not very cheap) I would like to know if someone has experience with such instrument version. Also, can you give me some advice about such drivers/LabView version?

Thank you all,
