PCIe 8361 PCI-to-PCI bridge does not show up.

Solved!

Hi,

I replaced an old PCIe 8361 card, but the “PCI-to-PCI bridge” does not appear in device manager.
Is it because the chassis is not connected?
I don't have a chassis on hand.
I know I can connect the chassis and try it out, but due to circumstances I would like to make a decision without the chassis.

Hi fagoon,

There's a version of the PCIe-8361 that doesn't have a bridge on it, but it is/was only bundled in a few select kits. Unless you have this version there should be at least one PCI-to-PCI bridge in device manager. Is this the same PC that the old card was in? What's the part number of the new one?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply.
The old one is ASSY 199042A-01L and the new one is 195317C-01.
I tried it on the same PC.

Hi fagoon,

The new one is the version that won't show up in device manager (regardless of whether a chassis is attached). You won't be able to tell whether it works without connecting a chassis.
