Preparing a VI for a VFD

If by that you mean function codes that can read and rewrite control parameters that startup, stop, and set operating frequency of the VFD, then from what I understand, yes. As for the Visa Write function, would that be something I use for the TCP/IP VI I uploaded as well (after it has been adjusted for a serial connection, that is)?

I'm a little confused by that wording- I'm assuming you mean just remove all TCP/IP VIs and put in appropriate VISA serial VIs. Then you could add an event for changing the frequency of the VFD.
