Problems with building and installer - hardware config.

Labview Pro 8.2

DAQMX 8.5

I am having a problem with the hardware configuration while building an installer.

When I run the configuration export wizard and export a NCE file I get an error when I try and build the installer. The error states – “A suitable version of Measurement & Automation Explorer

(MAX) cannot be found on your system, so the data file import cannot be scheduled.  Please re-install MAX from the latest National Instruments Driver CD and try again.

I have reinstalled DAQMX 8.5 but that didn’t change anything.

If I export an INI file instead of a NCE file I can build the installer without any errors but I wasn’t sure if this was the right thing to do.

The problem I am having is on my development pc my USB-6008 module is device 3. When I build the installer (using the hardware export INI file) and install the program on a target PC

the same USB-6008 module is recognized as device 1 on the target PC. My program is looking for device 3 not device 1.

I thought maybe the problem is because I couldn’t build with the NCE config file.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Brian

i also have a similar problem!!! has anyone a solution???

CDK_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller >> CDK_Build_Invoke.vi >> CDK_Engine_Main.vi >> CDK_Engine_PreBuild.vi >> CDK_Engine_GetMAXSupport.vi >> NI_MDF.lvlib:MDFProdInfoMAXSupport_GetCountProductIds.vi

this is the error i get when i compile the installer. this error only occurs when i select the "include hardware configuration from MAX" under the "advanced" menu in the installer properties.

the file is created (configData.nce) but the compiler wont budge past this error. is there a way i can import this config file onto the client machine with Labview8 runtime, VISA runtime and IVI Compliance Package??

Please help me as this is driving me insane!

Alex.
