Query regarding SCXI 1001 chassis

I am using NI SCXI chassis model :

scxi -1001 , part no. 181455P-31 . Can i interchange a scxi 1357 8 slots communication adapter to same scxi -1001 , part no. 18455M-31. 

My main concern is that do part no. Play any role in anyway if model of chassis is same

a different part number for the same model usually indicates a different connector on the front panel or conformal coated vs not conformal coated.

What communication adapter are you using?
