Hi B.,

Thanks for info.  It did cross my mind that backing up then wiping my C: drive would be t final solution. Will do that, and stop wasting any more time.

Many thanks to u and ur colleagues.

BW,

Max.

Before you do go about wiping your c:\ drive, I'd ask how critical is it that you wipe the drive of the LabVIEW stuff.

If you don't plan to use it, and if it isn't causing you any problems, could you safely just ignore?

If you need the drive space, then it makes sense to try to eliminate it.  If services remain running and it is eating your processor time, you could try to disable those services.

Just saying you might not find it is worth effort to get rid of it.  Wait until you need to.  You may wind up getting a new PC long before it becomes an issue.

Hi R.,

Thanks for advice.  Yeah, v. gud point.  Did several attempts last night, same residue seen in Task Manager/ Services. So will leave them, they've stopped running anyway.  Room on C: drive not an issue.

Started laptop today and found Windows reset to basic mode with all my apps in two columns, desktop empty of all folders and shortcuts, [in a single folder] all preferences and settings erased and internet history, bookmarks, settings, everything, wiped empty.  A wee warnin', perchance.  Got a backup in an external drive, so that's handy.  Could b worse.

Appologies for language in first mail if a wee bit strong.

Banzai,

Max.
