XLR8 and Unicode

Good morning every one.

I'm guillaume, I'm using Labview since 8 years, nice to meet you all!

Like write in the subject, I'm looking for a solution to read an xlsx file with XLR8 but in Unicode? I know how to do to that with the report generation of labview (so with the ActiveX, it's working but XLR8 is better).

Maybe there is no solution, and I should contact the developpers.

Someone has any idea?

I suspect that the strings in the spreadsheet file are UTF-8.  However I don't know what XLR8 returns.

Maybe you can make use of one of the attached files.

Thanks for your reply.

I tested some file you attached in your reply. and, it's not working.
When I try to read with the XLR8 I have only "???" caracter. With the ActiveX, it was the same case but, it possible to get the refnum, and obtain a variant with the string in UTF-8 inside.

So, maybe I should ask directly to the developer. I hoped that one option was hide somewhere or getting the variant like the ActiveX solution.
