I have a developement machine with LabView 2009 PDS & VDM 2009 on it - see attached screenshot.
My understanding is that VDM 2009 comes with one VDM RTE for one computer.
I just accidentally activated this RTE on the development machine via NILM, where I don't need it.
I need it on the target machine, where my evaluation RTE expires soon - see 2nd attached screenshot.
I made an installer that included VDM 2009 RTE, but it didn't seem to load, maybe because I've already mistakenly activated the only RTE on the development machine...
Is there a way to un-activate RTE on the development machine, so I can install it on the target ?

You can deactivate license (just righ-click on Run-Time, then select deactivate).
For the target machine just proceed to www.ni.com/activate, then select Vision, then Vision Run-Time, then 2009, after that press Go, and then fill form - enter your serial number and computer ID. Then you will receive activation key, which should be entered on the target machine. Remember, that Vision Run-Time is separate product which should be purchased for each end-user installation.

Andrey,
Our target machine must remain offline without internet access.
I'm hoping to use the Vision RTE that came with VDM 2009 in an installer for this target machine.
So, I de-activated Vision RTE on the development machine, & proceeded to build an installer. I get the error attached - the source installer for VDM 2009 can not be found. What can I do to fix this ? Normally where does this *.id file reside ?

1. You don't need internet connection on the target machine. Just wrote down computer ID, enter into web worm (on the other PC, which is connected to internet, of course), obtain license key, and enter this key on the target machine. Done!
2. Deactivation Vision RTE on the Development PC is not necessary.
3. If installer for VDM not found by build - just insert DVD with VDM (or copy installer to HDD), then give path. After that all necessary files will be stored in cache (be sure that appropriate check box is set to on), so by next build the builder will not ask for VDM.

Andrey,
I'm sorry - I am new to this. What is "web worm" ? By license key, do you mean activation code ?
I have the 16-character target computer ID, but I don't see how to input this information into NILM on the development machine...
I am one step away from solving this problem. Could you please specify exactly what I need to do to obtain the activation code for the target ?
I appreciate the help very much.

Please read second post again. Well, you have 16-characters target computer ID. Now:
1. Open web site www.ni.com/activate
2. Select Vision, Vision RunTime, 2009, press Go.
3. Enter 16-characters ID and Vision serial number.
4. You will get 20-characters activation code back.
5. Enter obtained 20-characters into NILM (right click on the Vision run-time, then select Activate)
Enjoy!
