configuring cRIO to see 9214 modules

I have installed a new cRIO9081 system and can see it as a remote system.  However, when I add a Ni-9214 module, it does not see the module, even after I refresh and restart the cRIO. On the old system (cDAQ-9188, this worked.)  Is the cRIO not a plug and play type of system?

Where are you trying to see it?  The cDAQ comment makes me think you're looking in MAX.  You won't see any modules there for a cRIO.

Create a project and add the FPGA Target.  You'll find modules under that tree.

create a project in Labview?  I'm sorry to ask questions like this but I've never used DAQ or cRIO systems like this before.

Have you taken a look at our Getting Started with CompactRIO and LabVIEW guide? It walks you through setting up the cRIO and the modules in a LabVIEW project. Take a look here: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372596a.pdf
