labview 32 bit to 64 bit

I have a new computer which is a 64 bit system. I have LabVIEW 32 bit. I would like to know if I can download the 64 bit version and install it over the 32 bit version as though it were an upgrade. Would it be better to go through the lengthy process to uninstall the 32 bit version and then install the 64 bit version fresh? Also, will my license still work with the 64 bit version?

I'm not sure what the linked thread is supposed to provide, since that's talking about LabviEW 7.1 and Windows 7. ????

In terms of the question: the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of LabVIEW are installed in separate directories. The 64-bit version is not considered an "upgrade" of the other. Thus, you can have both versions installed (and indeed some people do have both versions). If you do not want the 32-bit version at all, that's up to you, and you can uninstall it. The license you get covers running either one, so you do not need to get a new license.

Perfect! Thanks. I wanted to ask before experimenting.

Thanks again.
