usb connection to device

Hi All

Absolute beginner to LabView so any and all help greatly appreciated.  I have a RS Pro 871-8291 power meter and need to display the meters reading in LabView.  I'm connected using a USB to RS485 cable but I have no idea how to do this.  I've looked through past posts but nothing seems relevant to my needs.  Again complete beginner, was given the project for work, any help or relevant tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

your device support Modbus-RTU - you will find several Modbus libraries for LabVIEW in the VIPM…

For a complete beginner you should:

• take the Training resources to learn LabVIEW, offered for free in the header of the LabVIEW board
• learn about Modbus to understand its communication protocol
• after doing so install one of the Modbus libraries and learn from the example VIs in the library…
