Solved!

NI,

what ports or range of ports are used for cRIO by NI for:

LabVIEW development system

NI MAX

RAD tool

NI Network Browser

NI distributed system manager

We are setting up VPN connections and firewall settings and understanding these items is very important to us.

Thanks in advance.

There are some posts about this already on the forums - you might find them useful:

http://forums.ni.com/t5/Real-Time-Measurement-and/Exactly-what-ports-are-used-to-communicate-with-a-...

https://forums.ni.com/t5/Real-Time-Measurement-and/Cannot-access-cRIO-behind-NAT-firewall-with-MAX/t...

I believe that both UDP (for discovery) and TCP (for communications) are used by MAX.

You could also consider using a network sniffer tool like Wireshark to see what connections are being used.
