Hi sammadhu,

Unfortunately the Ubuntu Linux environment is not officially supported by the NI LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Module for Linux and of the supported Linux Distributions only 32-bit (x86) Linux is supported. You can find a list of supported Linux Distributions in the Introduction to the NI LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Module for Linux article.

In addition, CVI DLLs that are developed in the Windows CVI environment will have to be recompiled from source on the Linux platform in order to be used. CVI DLLs made in Windows are not compatible in Linux unless the source code is re-built for Linux. In order to make an application that can be built in both Linux and Windows there are a set of guidelines available in the CVI help topic Building Multiplatform Applications that gives guidelines for both programming and user interfaces.

The Frequently Asked Questions section of the Introduction to the NI LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Module for Linux article gives details about compilation on Linux and the tools that are available. If you would like to try the LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Module for Linux you can find more information on how to acquire it on the product page.

Hi sammadhu,

Unfortunately there is not a trial version of the CVI Run-time for Linux available for download from the website, but if you are interested in using the environment on Linux I would highly recommend contacting a Technical Sales Representative at ni.com/contact to see what options are available for your application.
