Unable to find USB-8451 from LabWindows/CVI

The 8451 is visible in MAX, but when trying to find it from LabWindows code (ni845xFindDevices) i get the error code -301701 : "NI-845x: The resource name contains insufficient location information, describes a resource that is not present in the system, or describes a resource that may be in use by a separate process"

-Win 10 Enterprise (64 bit)

Could it be that you actually have opened it in NI Max? For the test panel or similar for instance?

The last part of the error message mentions that possibility, so it doesn’t have to be the first part, that he can’t find it at all.

Thank you for the response, I'm quite sure that is not the issue.  BTW upgraded the software for the 845x to version  2022-Q3 with no change in behavior.

It was just an idea. Since NI Max can see the device, it is HIGHLY unlikely (pretty much impossible) that the first and second possible reason in the error message, of the library not finding the device, is the actual reason for this error. Leaves the third part of the error explanation as most likely option.
