Hi Commandr-
It sounds like you may be experiencing a corruption in the Data files that MAX and NI-DAQmx use to store configuration information. To verify this you should boot your computer into Safe Mode and backup the /Program Files/National Instruments/MAX/Data directory. Then delete the directory and boot your computer normally. The /Data folder should be regenerated and any residual device listings should disappear.
Please let us know if this does not correct the problem. Thanks-

I don't believe Windows is detecting this particular device. I checked Device Manager and nothing is listed.
What I get each time I reboot is a dialog titled "New Data Aquisition Device" that says "NI-DAQmx has detected a new data acquisition device." and lists it as "NI-USB 6008". Then it says "What would you like to do?" and gives me a blank list of options.
There is a checkbox which says "Always take this Action." I've tried checking the checkbox and hitting OK but the dialog still reappears on reboot.
