Hello,
This is my very first post on this forum, and since I'm completely new to DAQmx and just started learning LabVIEW, please bear with me if I ask silly questions.
My USB-6008 works perfectly on my work desktop PC (LabVIEW 2018, MAX 20.0, NI-DAQmx Device Driver 20.0), so there is nothing wrong on USB-6008 side, USB-6008 works OK.
However, when the USB-6008 is plugged into my work laptop (LabVIEW 2018, MAX 18.5, NI-DAQmx Device Driver 18.6), it is successfully recognized by device manager, the LED on USB-6008 blinks correctly (telling me everything should be fine), but it is not recognized in the Measurement and Automation Explorer. The USB-6008 must have worked on this laptop before because the NI USB-6008 ''Dev3'' is listed in MAX devices and interfaces, but it keeps showing as 'not present' even though the USB-6008 is plugged in (but properly recognized in device manager and the USB-6008 LED flashes as it should). I've attached some screenshots below that compare the laptop (where the 6008 doesn't work) and desktop (where it works) configurations.
I would suspect it must be something simple like a wrong driver or a missing piece of SW on my laptop, but I really don't know. I have checked the latest NI-DAQmx LabVIEW compatibility chart (as of November 2022) and NI-DAQmx 18.x (installed on a laptop) should work with LabVIEW 2018.
Any help or advice on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated as I am stuck here. Thank you.
Jarda
