calibration fixture control

Dear All,

based on documentation for Calibration fixutre (778056-03) I should use following dio to route signals for PXI 6071E :

analog input DIO(0) = 1

analog output 0 - DIO(1) = 0

analog output 1 - DIO(1) = 1

but it seems that analog input with these settings is inverted. I must use DIO(0) = 0.

When I performe external calibration I must use DIO(0) = 1 otherwise calibration is not completed (input signal is out of spec).

Which are correct dio states ?

What is a diagram for signal routing inside fixture ?

p.s. for analog output documentation is fine.

Thanks for help

Michal

Hi mpankau,

I am going to help You with routing issues for 6071E when calibrating. Could You please be more specific and let me know where in documentation I can find those routing guidelines? The best will be if You provide me name of the document and page/chapter.

Thank You,

Hi mpankau,

Thanks for sending me the documentation and giving reference to it. For your card (6071E) the DIO(0) shall be setup to 1 when doing calibration using the calibration fixture.

Could you please define what you mean using word inverted with regards to analog input?

Anyway, I found the document describing calibration procedure for E series cards (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/322314b.pdf). You might also follow the calibration methods described in the document which don't require calibration fixture and check whether calibration is passed.

Dear Wojciech,

you are right, if I want to make an external calibration I have to set DIO(0) to 1, but when only checking if device analog input channel 0 is in specification I have to set DIO(0) to 0.

Do you have a diagram of routing inside calibration fixture ?

Regards,

p.s. document  (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/322314b.pdf) does not exists

Hi mpankau,

First of all could you explain me what do you mean by word inverted used with regards to analog input? This information might be crucial to understand the reason of problem.

Why do you set DIO(0) to 0? Where did you find information about it? In the document provided by you there is no guideline to set DIO(0) to 0 for 6071E.

Anyway, I would recommend you to try with the calibration procedure described in the following document http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/322314b.pdf (sorry! the previous link to the document was wrong). In the document is described calibration procedure for analog input using the calibrator so you might follow that one. After finishing it please let me know about result.

Could you also provide me the P/N and S/N of your device? I will try to find resources available for it.

Best Regards,

Wojciech Sommer.
