digital (Binary Number) output

Hi Everyone....

I want to make a program in LabVIEW that will read certain numbers in a .txt file in the computer then output these numbers as a binary output (8-bit max, each number at a time, 100ms between each different number) to a microcontroller via a DAQ.I wanted to know the cheapest DAQ that will accomplish this assignment.

Do you realize you can go the Products page and search by price? If you had done that, you would have found the 6501. It's static I/O. Look through that and the other products to find one that meets all of your specs.

Does your pc have a parallel port?  Search the NI webpage for info on using NI-VISA to control parallel port.

Good answer Wayne. That is the cheapest way to do it. There are also free toys to be found in the cereal port.
