error 201003 trying to read multiple analog inputs on 9172 chassis

Solved!
Go to solution

I'm new to the forums, so forgive me if this has been answered already.

Im using the c-DAQ 9172 chassis with a 9221 Analog input module. I want to read three transducers in real time. The problem i have is two if the transducers are 7.5K psi rated and one is 100 psi rated, making me use two diferent scales. I can do N channels on the reading of the system but will only allow me to read the two 7.5 K transducers.  I dont use DAQ assistant, I create a virtual channel and add all of the components to read from the module. When I create a different instance for the third transducer, it gives me the error: Error 201003, module is already reserved. I need some help please. Let me know of another way to accomplish what im trying to do. I have used the DAQ assistant, but the data is incorrent on the 100 psi transducer, which is why i manually create the virtual channel.

If you had searched for the error code or message, you would have found numerous posts on this common problem for beginners. You simply cannot use multiple tasks for a single hardware resource. Use multiple Create Channel functions, each connected to the next and specify your scale.

Can you explain "Each ocnnected to the next"? And are you referring to the Create Virtual Channel.vi?

There is a task output of the function. Connect the task out to the task in just like you connect error out to error in.
