Blue Schematic Symbols

Hi there,

I'm using Multisim as an electronics student at university.
I've noticed that many components turn blue (pictured) when placed and don't seem to function as I would expect them to.
Does this mean that they are purely only a schematic symbol and don't have a simulation model?

Also, it would be great to be able to have certain symbols, such as diodes and resistors at 45 degrees - is this possible anyway?

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam,

A blue component means that the component has both a simulation model and a package for layout assigned to it.

A black component means that the component has a simulation model but no package information for layout.

A green component means that the component has no simulation model assigned and is purely a schematic symbol / layout component.

I hope that helps!

Unfortunately components can only be rotated by 90 degrees. If you would really like to be able to rotate in smaller increments I would suggest creating a post on the Idea Exchange. If it gets enough kudos and feedback from other users R&D will consider adding the feature to the product.

Cheers,

Jeff
