Hi,
This is Fang from Nexfrontier Solutions Singapore.
we found that the gold finger interface on PXI 7952R is not so robust. Our terminal block is quite heavy and currently making connections tight between terminal block PXI chassis by screw or something is not applied. This leads that some signals will disappear when the terminal block is inserted into FlexRIO card.
Is there any chance to change the gold finger to other connectors like PXI connectors? Or do you have any suggestion to this case?
Thanks and regards,
Fang

The PCB gold fingers provide an electrical connection between the FlexRIO connector and the IO module PCB - this is their sole purpose. The connector-finger friction is not sufficient to mechanically support the IO module. For this reason the IO module enclosure is required as it provides both guide pins and mounting screws which mechanically secure the FlexRIO IO module to the PXI chassis. Relying on the PCB fingers for mechanical support is not recommended and can result in signal integrity problems.
