Available Driver Updates are not listed in Update Section

Solved!

I wanted to check for updates of the installed drivers on my system (NI-DAQmx, NI-DCPower, NI-Digital Pattern Driver, ...) via the package manager.

NIPM does not list any available updates for these drivers, but when searching for them in the NI download section, I see that there are updates available.

Example of the behaviour:

(apologies, all screenshots are in German, but should hopefully still be self-explanatory):

  • NIPM tells me that Ni-Digital Pattern Driver 2022 Q4 is installed, which is correct:

  • On ni.com downloads I can see that there is a more recent version available:

  • But NIPM does not list this as a potential update and only lists eight non-driver updates:

  • I have tried the NI Update service as well, but this one only lists the last update seen in NIPM (licence manager), nothing else.

My System:

PXI embedded controller NI PXIe-8861 with Windows 10

NIPM version 2024 Q1

My question:

What can I do to get a list of all driver updates without searching for them manually?

Hi Christian, the Updates tab lists patches that are released against existing feeds that were used on this system previously to install software, and the feed is still registered in NIPM. New quarterly versions of software are what NI considers major releases and those exist in new separate feeds and must be installed either using the Browse Product tab in NI Package Manager or initiated using a download from ni.com. NI Update Service only lists patches on the Updates tab that NI listed as critical when published, and this does not happen very often. I am not aware of any public or automated list of all driver releases.
