Error 97 occurred at Unkown System Error in TestStand - Set TestStand Application Window.vi->User Interface.vi

Hi there,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I have an issue with an executable which was built in LabVIEW (2016 32 bit) which interfaces with TestStand (2016 32 bit).

I'm trying to install the .exe on a new PC, but I keep getting the same error "Error 97 occurred at Unknown System Error in TestStand - Set TestStand Application Window.vi->User Interface.vi -- Possible reason(s): LabVIEW: A null or previously deleted refnum was passed in as an input."

It works on an existing PC, but the PC is so slow that I'm being forced to upgrade to a new machine. The existing PC does not have working LabVIEW or TestStand applications installed, only evaluation apps which expired years ago.

From what I can tell, all the boxes which display "Control could not be loaded" are the only parts which interface with TestStand related sequences.

At first I had a different error which advised me to download and install the LabVIEW Run Time Engine, so I managed to find a match for the 2016 32 bit version and installed it. But I can't get past this error (97).

I've attached pictures of the interface on the existing PC and on the new PC. What else do I need to install apart from the LabVIEW Run Time Engine to get rid of this error?

I'd be so grateful of any help.

Hi, 

It looks you need to install the TestStand Runtime Engine on the new machine.

Thanks for your help! It looks like it was just the TestStand Run Time Engine... no idea why it was so obvious to install the LabVIEW RTE but not obvious for the TestStand RTE.
